Protecting Your Body From Heart Disease

Did you know heart disease is the #1 killer in the United States and in many parts of the world?  This can be attributed to many factors, but one common culprit the studies have listed time and time again has been junk food and what humans are putting in their body these days. Can changing diet and paying attention to what your putting in your body really add more years to your life and help eliminate the risk? Absolutely. Eating healthier has many benefits outside of just protecting yourself from heart disease. Its possible to add up to 15 years to your life by simply making small changes to your diet.

What can you add to your diet or change to lower your risk of heart disease?  Raw foods and more vegetable food.  Raw vegetable foods contain zero cholesterol, which is a big cause of heart disease in the first place. When adding raw food to your diet, you have to remember that raw food is not cooked food. People ask, whats the difference all the time. When food is cooked, the temperature gets so high that most of the nutrients in the food will be gone.  Diseases more easily occur in our body when we do not get as many nutrients as we should from food.  In Japan, so many people are living to an old age, mainly because they eat so much raw food such as sushi, that it is actually becoming a huge problem for them!

Going raw is a process when changing your eating habits and wont happen without resistance, but if you want to take responsibility for your health you can do it.  Eating raw foods can save money and time because you do not have to cook food!  You will not regret adding a bit of raw food in your diet and that small amount of change may spark motivation to add even more.  There are many benefits you can get from raw food aside from just protecting from heart disease. Eating more raw foods have been linked to less inflammation and pain in the body as well as helping with your energy levels.
